The Craft & Hobby Association announced Tuesday it was moving its annual CHA Mega Conference and Trade Show to Phoenix in 2017, saying the new venue will give the show room to grow.
The CHA Mega Show is a relatively new creation by the association, which previously hosted separate winter and summer shows. The event is currently held in Anaheim, Calif., during the second week in January. CHA said members asked for show to be moved back later in the month and the Phoenix Convention Center was one of the venues that could accommodate the new time frame.
Phoenix also will allow CHA to expand the show by providing room for other associations that want to co-locate events with it, according to the group.
"Moving the show to Phoenix in 2017, and beyond, will provide continued (return on investment) benefits for our exhibitors and offers a timeframe and venue that is optimal to the attendee experience," said Mark Hill, interim CEO of CHA.
CHA also is trimming the length of the show from four days to three, saying members requested the change. http://bit.ly/1LVrxba
